Abraham Grace Merritt was better known as A.A. Merritt. During the 1910's through the 1930's, he wrote several classic horror/fantasy/science fiction books with a pop of supernatural flair. While working as an assistant editor for the American Weekly Magazine, he hired the now famed artists Virgil Finlay and Hannes Bok, who are two of the most well known and talented artists whose art grace many pulp magazines of the era. Merritt was also a journalist and had many interesting hobbies, which informed his writing. His writing have  lost civilizations, hideous monsters, and a aura of suspense and the fantastic and his works inspired the likes of H.P. Lovecraft.

Swinger Lifestyle Wife Swapping Vintage Sleaze Paperbacks

Swinger Lifestyle Wife Swapping Vintage Sleaze Paperbacks

The topic of Swinging was always a popular one for authors writing sleaze novels during the late 1960's and early 1970's. Hundreds of books were published with swinging themes from wife swapping clubs to the cess pool suburbs full of husband swapping perversions! Phrases like "switch Partners", "Wife swapping", "Suburban sex cult", and "Weekend Party" were all common as titles for these swinger novels. The best part of these books today is their awesome cover art illustrations and the great taglines and copy.

A great reference book to start with on Sleaze paperbacks is Sin-A-Rama: The Sex Sleaze paperbacks of the Sixties. It shows hundreds of great vintage sleaze books!

Vintage sleaze paperbacks are a great collectible-they can easily be found in ebay which has a vintage paperback category. Typing in the word "Sleaze", "sleaze paperback", or "sleaze pb" will allow you to find such campy kitsch treasures on ebay.

Collecting vintage paperbacks in a topical way can get you an entire collection of gay/lesbian themed books, SF books, Westerns, or any sort of odd assortment from topics like vintage paperbacks with cover art showing deep sea equipment to books having to do with the Wife Swapping phenomenon.

A great place to find vintage paperback related gifts with great art and kitsch is at SWEETHEARTSINNER! They have many pulp related and vintage paperback themed items-all under $10!

Which Lesbians Prefer Males? Vintage lesbian Pulp fiction sleaze paperback!

This 1960's era book asks the important social question....Which Lesbians Prefer Males?

http://stores.ebay.com/Sweet-Heart-Sinner-Creations

This features cover art by Bill Edwards, who was a rodeo and film star as well as noted artist! He specialized in Western art but did cover art for many paperbacks in the 1960's. Here is one of the more racy titles from the Sixties.  It features a sexy brunette being spanked by a guy presumably because she is a lesbian. Accordingly, the artist and author believe that those lesbians that prefer males must be spanked to get them "straight".

While these books are not at all politically correct or sensitive, they are "campy" and fun in their own way. The obvious answer to the question posed is "NONE!" Lesbian paperbacks are fun to collect for their campy covers and taglines! They can be very valuable, make awesome displays, and are great cultural artifacts. Titles can be found on ebay for anywhere from $10 to $100 each.

I would love to see a book called "What heterosexuals prefer being gay?"

Check out SWEETHEARTSINNER for a wide selection of gay and lesbian themed cigarette cases, pill cases, and necklaces!
